Textile Animation / Animation textile

Prototype Install, Black Box Galery, OCAD University, Toronto

June 6th-10th 2022

Thinking about how architecture, animation and textiles intersect, this project reflects on early film exhibitor sideshow tents as well as immersive expanded cinema experiments of the 1960s. The piece was machine-knit with custom-dyed yarn and animates under computer-programmed RGB lighting. Thanks to Carson Van Vliet for the knitting and Brett Zadravetz for audio and animation help.

The artist would like to thank the Canada Council for the Arts for supporting this project.
